Motorola launches new Razr phones with advanced AI from Google Gemini. Google enhances educational tools with Gemini AI. Toys 'R' Us reveals AI-generated ad using OpenAI tech.

Motorola Razr and its New Features

Motorola has unveiled the new Razr and Razr Plus 2024 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original Razr flip phone. Notably marketing this launch, Paris Hilton is back to promote the new models.

The 2024 Razr series features a massive cover screen and advanced AI capabilities, thanks to Google Gemini. Improved chipsets also mark a significant upgrade over the previous models.

The Razr Plus 2024 is a clear step up from its 2023 predecessor, boasting more space and innovative features that enhance user experience.

Google's Gemini AI Tools for Education

Google's Gemini AI tools are entering the education sector, enhancing the Classroom app with new functionalities. The latest model introduces various features aimed at assisting both students and educators.

A key component is the double-check feature, designed to mitigate errors common in AI-generated content. This encourages users to verify information provided by AI chatbots.

Additionally, the Gemini AI sidebar is being gradually integrated into Gmail, although it is currently accessible to a limited audience. Workspace app suite users, specifically those on paid plans, will also benefit from Gemini's capabilities, echoing a modern take on Microsoft's Clippy.

AI Chatbot Competition

Toys 'R' Us has stirred controversy by unveiling its first-ever AI-generated commercial, developed using OpenAI's new text-to-video tool, Sora. The brand partnered with Native Foreign to produce this groundbreaking ad, positioning itself at the forefront of AI-powered marketing.

Google is reportedly venturing into the AI chatbot arena, aiming to produce chatbots that imitate celebrity personas. This move places Google in direct competition with Meta and Character AI, each seeking to dominate the growing conversational AI space.

Amazon is also making strides by developing a revolutionary AI chatbot intended to rival OpenAI's ChatGPT. The company’s ambition to craft a 'killer' chatbot highlights the escalating competition in the AI development landscape.

AI in Marketing and Business

Reckitt's chief marketing officer Fabrice Beaulieu explains how generative AI, building on the tech's data insights foundation, will revolutionize marketing. He shared these insights at the Cannes Lions 2024 International Festival of Creativity.

Bose CMO Jim Mollica states that AI is profoundly changing Bose by accelerating speed, improving consumer experiences, and achieving unparalleled scale. He conveyed this transformation during an interview at the same festival.

Volkswagen's CMO Susanne Franz revealed the company's use of AI to scale marketing efforts and the integration of ChatGPT into their vehicles. US Bank CMO Michael Lacorazza emphasized the dual role of AI in fraud detection and brand campaigns, noting the technology's full potential is yet to be tapped.

Apple's Lack of Collaboration with Meta

Apple's typical walled garden might be opening up for AI companies, and it considered Meta and Google.

Apple rejected overtures by Meta Platforms to integrate the social networking company's AI chatbot into the iPhone months ago, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Apple and Meta probably aren't doing anything together on AI — or anything else — anytime soon.
