Apple iPhone 16 and AI Features
Apple has unveiled the highly-anticipated iPhone 16 series, featuring a range of new enhancements. These include an extra ‘Camera Control’ button, a bigger 6.9-inch display for the Pro Max model, and a faster A18 processor designed for Apple Intelligence. Despite the excitement, the AI features, like custom emojis and email summaries, are not yet available and may arrive via future iOS updates like 18.1 or 18.2.
Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro will begin this Friday, marking an eagerly awaited date for Apple enthusiasts. CEO Tim Cook emphasized that these devices have been built from the ground up to integrate Apple Intelligence tools, including a new ‘Visual Intelligence’ feature aiming to outperform Google Lens.
The "Glowtime" event also showcased other products, such as the slimmer Apple Watch Series 10 and the return of the AirPods Max. The inclusion of AI tools in the iPhone 16 suggests Apple is firmly shifting its focus towards artificial intelligence, setting the stage for its growing role in future tech enhancements.
Apple Software Updates
Apple has confirmed the launch of iOS 18 on September 16th, along with macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11, and visionOS 2. These updates aim to enhance user customization and performance across devices.
Release candidate versions of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 have been seeded to developers, hoping to refine the software before public release. This follows a similar pattern with macOS Sequoia, which has also seen multiple beta versions.
Looking ahead, iOS 18.2 is expected to bring new features like Apple's Image Playground and Genmoji later in the year, potentially shipping its first beta in October. These enhancements promise to significantly augment the user experience.
Google Pixel Devices
Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is facing off against the iPhone 15 Pro Max in a comparison aiming to determine the superior flagship smartphone. Meanwhile, the Pixel Watch 3 continues to hold its position as the top smartwatch for Android users, though a larger size is the main reason to upgrade.
Concerns arise over the potential release of a budget-friendly Pixel 9a, with some fearing it could dilute the quality of the existing Pixel 9 lineup. However, in the competition between the Pixel 9 and Galaxy S24, both devices now share more similarities than before, with one boasting greater customization options.
For those seeking to maximize their Pixel 9 Pro's battery life, there are some straightforward methods to extend usage time daily, even though this device already delivers excellent battery performance.
Elon Musk and xAI
Elon Musk's xAI has introduced a highly advanced generative AI tool, Grok AI. Notably, it is collecting a significant amount of data posted on platform X. Users are advised to take measures to keep their posts out of Grok, as it raises privacy concerns.
In addition, Musk's social media platform X has come under scrutiny for amplifying far-right lies concerning migrants. This issue has added to the controversies surrounding his ventures.
Meanwhile, not all are impressed by xAI's new AI cluster system. Despite its aim to help the company catch up to competitors, some technology leaders remain skeptical about its impact.
NVIDIA and AI Market
Investors are obsessed with Nvidia thanks to its soaring stock price. The meme feels like GameStop, but there are also some good reasons for the cult.
Nvidia's Jensen Huang, PC pioneer Michael Dell, and Indian industrialist Gautam Adani are worth under $100 billion each after stocks tanked last week.
NVIDIA's shares lately took a beating as regulators launched a probe into the company's contracts.
Enterprises are still struggling with the business case for generative AI projects more than a year after the craze started, and we may have to wait until the end of 2025 to see if...
